Coffee Mug Gift Basket

Perhaps you have found this neat coffee mug that you just know your coffee guru will absolutely love. Or perhaps you cannot afford to create or buy a coffee gift basket. Why not make a coffee mug gift basket?

First, find a really unique and cool coffee mug. There are so many varieties available that it's actually hard to narrow it down to just one mug. If money is an issue, you can find very inexpensive mugs at your local thrift shop such as Good Will or Salvation Army. As an added bonus, many of these mugs are worth far more than the asking price.

Now gather some small packets of gourmet or flavored coffee. If you can't find or afford to buy some small packages, think re-gifting. Add in some other small items such as hot cocoa, chocolates, teas, mints, etc. Finally, use cellophane and colored ribbon to dress up the mug.

Watch the video and see how it's done. While it's not a elaborate as a coffee gift basket, the coffee gift mug will surely convey your message to the receiver and will be very mush appreciated. Remember, it's the thought that counts.

Drink Coffee: Do Stupid Things Faster

Drink CoffeeTo Those of us who are coffee drinkers, we simply cannot get our day started without a cup or three of our favorite morning pick-me-up. Once we get our morning fix or caffeine, it's as if nothing can stop us from conquering the world. Well, maybe more like we have enough get up and go to finally get going.

It may sound silly that people think this way. But the average American spends $1,100 on coffee and drinks nearly 70 gallons of this black gold per year.

Many people believe that coffee supplies them with energy and creativity. An extreme example - according to legend Honore de Balzac consumed 50 cups of coffee per day to fuel his writing. Or how about an example of extreme thinking at the other end of the scale. In 1511, coffee was banned in Mecca because it was believed to stimulate radical thinking.

Yet, another stupid notion: a 1674 petition by women in England to ban coffee from men under 60 years of age because they said it was turning their men into useless corpses.

Perish the thought, but do you know what happens when coffee is decaffeinated? The coffee manufactures sell the caffeine to soft drink makers and pharmaceutical companies. Hey send some of that my way!

While on the subject of coffee, here's a fun fact. Starbucks was named after Capt Ahab's first mate in the novel Moby Dick. Starbucks founders had considered the name Pequod's, Ahab's ship.

And another fun fact, no nuts in Chock Full O'Nuts coffee. The name actually comes from the name of the chain of nut shops that the owner converted into coffee shops.

So there you have it, drink coffee and do stupid things faster!

Make Your Own Coffee Gift Basket

Looking for an easy, fragrant gift to give to an office co-worker, friend, neighbor, or that special coffee lover in your life, consider making a coffee gift basket. It's very easy to make and allows you to be as simple or creative as you want.

You need only a few items to make your coffee gift basket a unique, thoughtful gift that is sure to bring a smile to anyone's face. You first need a basket, such as wicker basket with a handle for easy carrying. You will need some fill material to take up room and provide padding to keep everything in place. Fill material can be crumpled newspaper, plastic grocery bags, wrinkled up Kraft paper, etc. And finally, some nice colored tissue paper to put over the fill material.

Next select some nice coffee related gifts such as a coffee press, single serve coffee maker, coffee storage container, coffee grinder, etc. This is usually the biggest item in the basket and will be placed in the middle to attract the giftee's attention.

Now for selecting the coffee. Put in a nice selection of different types and flavors of coffee. You can find gourmet coffee in a variety of sizes for single serve pouches all the way up through 10- and 12-cup packets. Also, consider flavored creamers that require refrigeration.

Finally, toss in some items that go well with coffee, such as crunchy cookies, chocolate, miniature donuts, etc. Let your mind run wild. Try to select items that will not overpower the coffee when consumed together. Personally, I like to include items I know the recipient would like but probably would not buy for him or her self on a regular basis.

Take a look at this video to see just how quick and easy it is to create a coffee gift basket.
